STOLEN GOLDA 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝 is a portrait I did as a homage to my Cousin 𝐌𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐓𝐄 𝐂𝐥é𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, who passed away on 25th March 2023. Clémence, you were my cousin by blood, but gold to everyone who knows you. Your death has brought grief that is beyond description. Your love, presence, smile and other qualities were incomparable. For sure, you are the 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝, as I tried to describe you. We will miss you. | ISINEIsine is one of the cow names according to its coat(skin) color in Rwandan culture. Isine Cow is a cow with greyish-black color coat. And in Rwanda, someone who gives you cow means he/she gives you wealth (prosperity). It is in this way that this portrait was made for the Jean Yves Bayingana & Diane Umunezero family as a wish of prosperity to their new family. | QUEEN ELIZABETH III drew this portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as an act of paying homage to her. | MY CHOICE, FLAME OF HOPEThis Portrait depicts a message that is based on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. One can see bodies of the victims of the Genocide, a child who symbolizes all ages and all genders, wearing bloody clothes, has an amputated part of his right hand and scars on his head and is running with a flame of fire in the darkness of the forest. This reflects that no matter the impact and suffering the Genocide caused, Rwandans have the Hope of living and forgiveness symbolized by the flame of fire. |

IMPANOImpano is a Rwandan word meaning gift. I made this portrait for His Excellency Amb Dr Ron Adam of Israel in Rwanda to illustrate how much of a gift he is to the people of Rwanda. The full message has been given to the owner. | MBWIRAMBWIRA (Kinyarwanda word) which means Tell Me. The inspiration of this art came from the song Mbwira by a rwandan gospel artist Israel Mbonyi; reason to why the portrait is called MBWIRA. The art reflects the better times (illustrated by people raising hands, praising God and the lightening stage) & hard times (thus, the use of an old coat).
